Bear 128 Grazer in Pen & Ink with Watercolor | Drawn to Explore
Published on: Aug. 5 2025
Welcome to Drawn to Explore, an artist-naturalist live chat series on explore.org designed to deepen your connection to nature through sketching and observation. In each episode, we explore a different wild subject and creative technique. Today, we’ll sketch Bear 128 Grazer, using a combination of pen and ink with watercolor. Grazer is one of the most dynamic and assertive bears at Brooks River — known for both her fierce maternal instincts and bold solo presence. We’ll use this medium to capture not only what she looks like, but what she feels like: powerful, reactive, and deeply alive. Hosted by Sara Wolman and Mike Fitz
