Interesting counter intuitive approach to a drug program, please do a follow up piece and let us know how this goes. Sam seems like a fighter and an inspiring leader.

What an inspiring life he is living-very smart and courageous man. Indeed there no limit to what one can accomplish, only if you give it a try and commitment.

I just read Joel Epstein's article and came to watch the film to see where the disdain in Vancouver was from. Charlie points it out in the film that not everyone agrees with Sam's ideas but thank goodness he perseveres. He's sure got a lot of "grrr" in his attitude!

Very cool Sam. . I was born in Victoria, B.C. I too, am disabled. I got into selling dope, smoking dope, and shooting dope because it was cost-effective. On or about 2003 my place was taken over by Hell's Angel types and eventually i was stabbed five or six times with a dirty needle by a man who is now dead with aids. So, i too have aids, just this past xmas i developed pnemonia after a stoptd taking medications while i was travelling around canada, However, my life is very good now thanks to our health care system and the excellent drugs i am now taking. I almost died where i was. i was less than 100 pounds i lost in three weeks about 50 or sixty pounds anyway, i made it and am now healthy and feeling great and am ready to fight shell and BP on their piedream of building a above ground thru pristine alberta and bc yeah, right!! oil tankers!!don't think so. . .not here guys. . .we aint push-overs here on the coast thats for sure. . . i am ready for battle Sam. . . what are you up to? sailing i bet. . . i actually am helping my father build his 40 ft sailboat over here. he has been building from scratch pretty much for the las ten years on and off.
