Many of the craggy sea stacks on Bandon Beach have unique names, such as Garden of the Gods, Table Rock, and Elephant Rock. According to local legend, Face Rock is the face of an Indian maiden that was frozen into stone by an evil spirit; Cat and Kittens Rocks are her animals that were thrown into the sea and turned to stone by the same evil spirit.
