It might be interesting to do a story on the effect that the proper spay/neuter of cats and dogs might have on the country. We all know that there is a pet overpopulation problem that is never ending. But what if there wasn't? Has anyone ever done a story that says, "yes, it is possible, this is how we get there, and this is the result and what can happen if we get there." I'm sure the shelters could spend more time on animal cruelty cases, hoarding, and other important efforts if not so much time was spent on trying to find homes for animals. Just one cat produces about 67 offspring in two years.

  2. How about a film on how the kids in these neighborhoods keep themselves and others from doing the wrong thing, give them answers they can use when they are confronted with decisions under pressure from peers; help them find ways to avoid the drugs and having to be under gang rule; start as early as five years old; I have a grandson, ( who at 5 years old), his so called friend was teaching him to fight and beat up on others beyond the view of teachers. Start then; they do understand that if they have the tools the help; the where with all to avoid what their big brothers and sisters are doing; they can grow up to be great. Get as many kids active in the films as possible; showing them what adults do only gives them dreams, getting them to do the dream frees them.

  4. I believe a very interesting, not to mention controversial, film could be made by collecting as much current, well informed opinion as possible about the 3 gorges dam. I, personally, think that the dam is a vast mistake. I can point to several reasons for this opinion, but, I really only have an opinion. This dam is something which has implications far beyond the PRC. And, in tandem with the south to north water transfer project, it needs to be monitored, as thoroughly as possible. I realize that this would probably not be vigorously welcomed by the CCP, which is the government of the PRC, however, providing real information on this topic would be of great benefit for anyone who is not a member of the CCP.

  5. hello people! I speak from Colombia and a really interesting topic which would be how the fauna and flora within the limits of Colombia is running out for not providing control of the government, also bear in mind that the people of the region should be educated about these issues so that they can help solve them.

Another wonderful opportunity is in your backyard. Susan Carr, the epitome of selfless, started a non-profit called Elsa bringing animal therapy to autistic and underserved youth with programs at a rescue animal ranch in Malibu...http://www.elsainc.org/elsainc/Welcome.html. Lots of REALLY great programs and some fun volunteer options for the few people with more time on their hands. :)

PS - IntoOutside, a National Park Service Collaborative with UC Berkeley's ARC Program, Yosemite Youth Leadership Program and other agencies to connect youth to the outdoors. We are creating an online platform (sound familiar?) and a mobile app as a voice for the youth programs related to national parks to engage, excite, and inspire. Come join me in Yosemite where I will be quite a bit this summer as part of a scientific visualization fellowship with the Sierra Nevada Institute to envision, from the bottom up, what would kids really want as part of the engagement. Woohoo! I will refer you to the mover shakers making the program happen...good people, big hearts, wonderful program. Then of course, there is the project in Maui...

  8. There is a problem ! that the world blindsides from, POVERTY, LACK OF EDUCATION, Our Children need your help , let me show you why. Eight million people die each year because they are too poor to stay alive. A provocative plan on how we can save them. In a world of plenty ,1 billion people are so poor as estimated by the World bank, their lives are in danger. We can banish extreme poverty in our generation. HOW TO END POVERTY I know this subject has been spoken about a number of times and If we truely change the way we look at things , things we look at will change. Asia lead in numbers, but Africa has the largest proportion, nearly half it's population.

  9. Climate change... and how China, America and Russia has a negative impact on how the enviroment is changing resonating in floods, droughts and a whole lot of other disasters. A strategic plan needs to be addressed and we all know why china does'nt want us to focus on this. It's real and it's becoming a problem, that can be solved.
